I can't say I agree. I think both films are pretty damn brilliant. The opening stretch of Endgame - in the post snap environment - had an eerie sci-fi apocalypse feel which really hit home. And if it is a victory lap, it is a deeply, deeply satisfying one that has been well and truly earned. For both my children, this film was what Return of the Jedi was to my generation as a cultural landmark. For me, the Infinity War/Endgame duo sit very near the top of my favourite Marvel films (though not the top itself, that honour goes to Captain America: Civil War).
