I completely agree. But remember - the Mad Max dubbing happened in the early 1980s. I also remember when Trainspotting was released in America, it also got dubbed in a few places because distributors were concerned Americans wouldn't understand Glaswegian accents (the film was also slightly censored for US audiences, toning down some of the harsher moments). So I don't think this is a new phenomenon per se. :)
