I completely disagree. In fact, I completely disagree with the entire thrust of this article. I think Rowling is a superb writer give that she captured the imaginations of millions of children and adults. I find her work page-turning and hugely exciting - and, perhaps more importantly, often very funny. This applies to her Strike novels as well as the Harry Potter series. That the early novels have the odd extra adjective is hardly a deal-breaker for me, and I actually think she weaves in her more serious themes rather well, without coming off as preachy.

In short, I really couldn't give an airborne fornication what "the internet" thinks of Harry Potter. But each to their own. If you don't like it, fair enough.
