I despair of Disney's live-action remakes of classic animated features. They are as superfluous as a Westlife cover version and a total waste of celluloid.

If you're going to remake something, at least make it radically different. Guillermo Del Toro's sublime take on Pinocchio, for instance. Can you imagine what he could have done with The Little Mermaid? Actually, thinking about it, he sort-of remade it anyway (The Shape of Water). :)
