I desperately wanted to be deeply moved in a Brief Encounter/In the Mood For Love/The Remains of the Day sort of way, but whilst I found much to admire in script, performances, and direction, it simply didn’t hit me emotionally the way I wanted it to. But I promise I’ll definitely give it another go. A film review is not a blood oath and certainly my opinion of a film can change over time with repeat viewings. :)
