I didn't care for Man of Steel and don't care for Zack Snyder in general. I suppose the first half of Man of Steel is quite good (the stuff with Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent), but Jonathan Kent dies in the most ridiculous way; a because-we-can tornado VFX disaster that Superman could easily have saved him from, rather than the poignant heart attack scene in Richard Donner's peerless 1978 film, where Superman was truly powerless. Then there's the charisma free relationship with Lois. I've nothing against Henry Cavill or Amy Adams, you understand, but their relationship has none of the charm, wit, or chemistry of Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder in the 1978 film. As for the finale, there really is only so many times you can throw General Zod through a building before it just becomes numbing. Nor did I care for the Hans Zimmer chugging replacing John Williams's iconic main theme. It's like having James Bond without the James Bond theme, for crying out loud.

And don't get me started on Justice League (if you're curious, I've written about it more eloquently here):

Rant over. :)
