I didn’t find it remotely exhilarating. Merely baffling and shocking for the sake of it. Definitely an iconoclastic step too far for me, and a fundamental betrayal of the Bond movie audience. I’ve seen plenty of “the hero dies at the end” stories that work very well, but James Bond simply isn’t a franchise to explore such a scenario. God forbid James Mangold et al do the same thing with the new Indiana Jones film.

Anyway, I don’t think they’ll attempt to pick up the story. They’ll just reboot the whole thing with a new cast.
