I didn't mention anything about the IDF in my comment. You assumed I support everything they are doing. I don't. You also (by extension) assumed I approve of Netanyahu's right-wing government. I don't. But that doesn't mean there was anything remotely legitimate about what Hamas did on the 7th of October. That is what triggered this current conflict, and that is why I condemn it without qualification.

To the broader issue: If there is going to be a two-state solution (the only sane solution), then extremists on both sides need to put down their guns and their poisonous religious ideologies and start talking. That isn't going to happen with Hamas and their brainwashing murderous drivel, nor is it going to happen with a right-wing, corrupt Israeli government. Both need to go. Then there needs to be systemic de-brainwashing of Palestinians, whose children have been programmed from an earlier age with all kinds of anti-Jewish martyrdom nonsense. There needs to be a moderate Israeli government who tackle the extremists on the Israeli side too. Enough bloodshed. Both need to live side by side together, and learn to live in peace.

I assume you support this?
