I disagree. There is a film to be made showing what happened in Japan, but this isn't it. This is about his point of view, and the claustrophobic, suffocating nature of his overwhelming guilt. All of that intensity would have been diluted by randomly cutting to Japan.

And I still disagree on the sex scenes. They are frank and adult, exactly as they should be. I am not squeamish about nudity. The Hindu thing perhaps I'll concede could be offensive to some and may have been misjudged, but I'd be curious to know what was in Nolan's mind as an artist at that point. I don't personally find it offensive.

I'll have to watch the film again to see if I agree that the senate hearings were too long, but I don't recall thinking that at all. I was riveted, and the final scene absolutely floored me.

As you said, was shall have to agree to disagree. :)
