I discovered Tarkovsky around the age of 12, when Channel 4 (in the UK) ran a season of his films. I found them utterly captivating, and raved about them to my classmates, who couldn't see the appeal of bleak existential Russian trudges. That was one of the first times I realised I was a bit "special". Hahahahahaha!
