I don't agree. I think Villeneuve's take on Dune, if anything, has more depth and more of a "why" than the novel by making the messiah critique more pronounced. That makes it frighteningly relevant if you ask me, considering various events in the headlines.
As for the dialogue question, I'm with screenwriting guru Robert McKee on this one. In cinema, image should be the first choice, dialogue the regretful second choice. :)
