I don't hand-wring over this stuff, to be honest. Happy to call people whatever they want to be called, and perfectly happy for language to evolve, but I don't believe in prohibiting expression in the name of political correctness. That's a bit too close to "Newspeak" for comfort, circa Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four.
