I don't know exactly who is "hating" on these characters (I avoid social media), but I do know Disney seem to have taken against romance by some kind of idiotic algorithmic mandate. Wish was an absolute travesty of a film - a far cry from the heartfelt joys of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Tangled. These films have wit, excitement, humour, and heartstring tugging love stories, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with any of that. Anyone who thinks otherwise can take a long walk off a short pier. :)
