I don't pause any film, as that breaks the spell - unless it is at the originally planned intermission point (eg, just after the killing of Fanucci in The Godfather Part II, just after the buffalo hunt in Dances with Wolves - you get the idea).

I don't care about TV though. Happy to pause that if necessary. It isn't cinema.
