I don't really see it as a tricky line. Me watching The Birds or not watching The Birds makes no difference to the wellbeing of Tippi Hedren.

How do you feel about Apocalypse Now? Martin Sheen was not in a good way during that hotel scene (as is clear from the excellent making-of documentary Hearts of Darkness). What about Kubrick's lengendary bullying of Shelley Duvall in The Shining? What about James Cameron's notorious behaviour on his sets? What about Werner Herzog on the set of Fitzcaraldo?

Regarding The Twilight Zone, their deaths aren't actually in the film, right? I'm very big on separating art from artist, so I suppose I'm also big on separating films from on-set accidents that occured whilst they were shot.
