I don't usually comment on articles like this, as most of my writing concerns films, novels, etc. However, as a Christian, your headline caught my eye. I agree with you one hundred percent.
There are more than a few things right-wing American Christians seem to be in favour of that cause me to scratch my head here in the UK (the death penalty, the idolising of immoral insurgent politicians, and the right to assault weapons, for instance). It further baffles me that anyone who is anti-abortion would be anti-birth control. That makes no logical sense whatsoever.
If you're going to be pro-life, it should be without hypocrisy. I also completely agree with your other two points (re: adoption and grace).
I'm pro-life in theory, but in a church I used to attend, a young woman in the congregation was diagnosed with cancer whilst pregnant. She could have had the treatment, but it would have killed the baby. She chose to have the baby, but then it was too late to have the treatment and she died. Whose life was more important in that situation? I know it was her choice, but if I had been her husband, I would have begged with every fibre of my being for her to have an abortion, and would have been grateful for the legal framework to have one in such a scenario. An absolutely heartbreaking story, but it proves the point that this isn't always a black and white issue.
Anyway, thank you for this article. :)
