I go to the cinema a lot, as you know. Over the years, I've seen many great films in otherwise empty screens. Memorable examples include: Carlito's Way and The Lives of Others, two all-time favourites of mine. As recently as Monday night, I saw the new version of The Three Musketeers in an empty IMAX screen (immensely entertaining, by the way).
But sometimes a big crowd is good. I'll never forget the packed opening night screening of Star Wars at the Odeon Leicester Square, London, during the 1997 rerelease. Or seeing Paddington in a cinema filled with giggling, delighted children. You get the picture. :)
