I have a complicated religious backstory: My parents were in a cult until I was seven (that's a huge subject I won't get into) and then in evangelical churches. I grew up around a lot of this culture and always thought much of it was nuts, especially teaching on sex and marriage (not to mention theologically dubious, but I haven't got time to get into why here, suffice it to say "biblical marriage" doesn't mean what evangelicals think it means).

I'm still a Christian. I absolutely believe the essential tenets of Christianity, but, if you'll forgive my use of an obscenity, I don't "identify" as evangelical. I've also seen time and time again how young Christians rushed into ill-advised marriages for the reasons you described. It's very depressing.
