I have some sympathy with historians who despair at the "Blackadder" view of World War I, but in fairness, Blackadder never set out to be a straight history lesson. It merely highlighted certain absurd aspects of that war and mined them for comedy to brilliant effect.

But yes... Read a history book too, dammit.
