I know several people with deep regret that they prioritised work over children. That is one thing I was determined not to do from the word go. I had to stand up to bosses many times and put my foot down over things like not attending management meetings when children had birthdays, etc. It caused ructions, but I have no regrets. No one ever lay on their deathbed wishing they'd spent more time at work. I love my children and they always come before work. What's more, they always will, even was adults (my eldest is about to turn 18, which has rather thrown me into an existential crisis). :)
