I loathe the music of Celine Dion with a burning passion, and have ranted at length about that elsewhere (and it pisses me off that her infernal warbling pollutes James Horner's otherwise pretty good score). All that said, despite being an utterly one-dimensional collection of cliche characters - spoilt rich girl, young, dashing, travelling artist with grab-bag of pseudo-bohemian cliche experiences, snooty Brits, etc - sometimes a blunt instrument is effective, and Cameron makes the film an effectively melodramatic wallow. Plus the second half, with the sinking ship, is gripping, visually stunning, and really needs to be seen at the cinema on a big (preferably huge) screen. That said, A Night to Remember is still the best Titanic film.
