I love JK Rowling's novels, and consider her quite brilliant. However, compared with the novels, I'm actually not a huge fan of the films, give or take the last one. They're perfectly fine, and obviously to a certain generation, they will be bulletproof from a nostalgia perspective. However, Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Lord of the Rings is a far more successful translation from one medium to another in terms of creating great cinema, to my mind.
All that said, I will give top marks to John Williams, for his scores for the first and third films. Amazing, as always.
