I love pop music unashamedly, so I'm not afraid to tell you that MMMBop is on my personal favourite singles compilation of 1997, which also includes revered gems by White Town, Chemical Brothers, Blur, Olive, Charlatans, The Verve, The Cardigans, Oasis, Monaco (basically New Order under another name), Supergrass, Pet Shop Boys, The Prodigy, Suede, Chumbawamba, and U2. However, this compilation also includes less revered poptastic tunes from Aqua (much better produced, funnier, and more satirical than anyone gave them credit for), Spice Girls (I refuse to apologise for loving them), Sash (they had some banging dance singles), and even Will Smith's Men in Black. Do I care what anyone thinks of this? Nope.
