I love this song, but I think handwringing over this from a theological perspective at a funeral misses the point, as it is a romantic longing to be with one's other half (even in death). As such, a funeral when one's other half has already died, it might feel entirely appropriate. If my wife had died, and this was played at my funeral, I'd be perfectly happy, and I wouldn't see it as any kind of commentary on my theology of eternal life. :)
