I love Tom Hanks, but he didn't deserve to win for that film. Also, every other actor nominated that year deserved to win more: Laurence Fishburne (What's Love Got to Do With It), Daniel Day-Lewis (In the Name of the Father), Liam Neeson (Schindler's List), and of course, Anthony Hopkins (The Remains of the Day). The latter should have won.
