I may have to skim read the rest of this, as I'm spoiler phobic, but I'll slow scroll whilst looking away so you get a read. However, I must say this: For all the things it had going for it, Lost cocked up the ending in such spectacular fashion that I now use the series as a byword for why I often refuse to commit to any ongoing serialised drama series (as opposed to adventure of the week type series) until it has concluded to satisfactory effect.

My wife, who, God bless her, is even more protective of my precious time than I am, generally evaluates which TV series are worthy of my time, and she is never wrong. I so appreciate her doing this, as my primary focus is on cinema and literature. To that end, she is the one who told me to watch The Wire, Battlestar Galactica, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and various other brilliant series that ended splendidly, rather than to get bogged down in those that ultimately proved a collossal waste of space, like Lost.
