I mention Hoop Dreams, Mean Streets, and Once Upon a Time in America in the article. Of your list, I particularly want to pick up on Carlito's Way. This is a criminally underrated film, and whilst I accept that 1993 was an absolutely barnstorming year for cinema, it really should have had at least a couple of nods.
