I must confess, as someone who grew up during the IRA's bombing campaign in mainland Britain, I got immensely frustrated by the IRA fundraising in the US, with all the ignorant nonsense that was spouted about British oppression and so forth. I remember Bono memorably debunking this propaganda during U2's American leg of The Johsua Tree tour, following the Eniskillen bombing.

All that said, I actually do have some sympathy with Irish Republicanism, and it is a mess historically caused by the British. However, I lose all sympathy when terrorism is brought into the mix.
