A fine argument, but...

I rather like this film, despite some of the issues you have here. Because it exists in "Curtisland" - a much nicer place than the real world, where no one seems to have any money worries, for one thing - I just don't give it a second thought and enjoy it as escapism. None of the romances here are as bad as Padme and Anakin. Heck, having been propositioned in the States a few times on account of my accent, I'd say even the Colin story is more plausible (not that it's about anything but sex, I hasten to add).
