I read your article with interest. It was engaging and amusing.
Some thoughts of my own, as a lifetime cineaste:
1. "Favourite" and "Greatest" are two distinct categories for me. I have a 100 Favourites list, and a 100 Greatest list. Neither are in order of merit, and are constantly in flux. Some titles overlap, but at least 50 or so do not.
2. I know many, many women who love Star Wars, Fight Club, etc. I am more into romantic films than my fantasy/sci-fi/gangster/action thriller loving wife.
3. Reservoir Dogs is my favourite Tarantino film, and always has been since I first saw it in the cinema in early 1993 during the original run.
4. Whilst realising this is a tongue-in-cheek article, I really couldn't give an airborne fornication what anyone thinks of my taste in films.
5. In the spirit of point 4, I am an ardent apologist for The Last Jedi, and here is why: https://medium.com/cinemania/the-real-reason-some-star-wars-fans-hated-the-last-jedi-f4c142b85cfc
