I realise I might be in a minority among straight men here, but honest to God, I never once had a sexual fantasy about Princess Leia as an adolescent/teenager, involving the gold bikini or otherwise. Plenty of other characters in other films, but never Princess Leia. I always thought she was a fabulous character though.

As for the gold bikini thing I always interpreted it as Jabba who was responsible, given the general seedy, gaudy unpleasantness of everything else that went on in his palace. It seemed "in character" for him to do that to Leia. Of course, Leia then kills him, which was a great storytelling choice.

All that said, I completely understand where you are coming from in this (very well-written) piece. :)
