I remember going to see this in the summer of 2002 with my wife, and we were so much more impressed with this than Attack of the Clones (which was out around the same time). Plus I'd grown up with Spider-Man cartoons, but no decent live action film version (technology took a while to get to the point where a decent film was feasible), so this was wonderful to finally see. :)

Spider-Man 2 is nearly as good.
