I revere John Williams. I am convinced his music is a portal to heaven itself. Choosing a favourite of his scores is like choosing between children, but E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is an obvious one, for personal reasons (aside from being objectively brilliant). I wrote about it here, if you're interested. Interesting how John Williams himself shares my opinion and he is absolutely right about the melding of picture and music. :)
