I take your point, but confess I don't like comparisons between Dune and The Lord of the Rings as they are so radically different (and Star Wars is also radically different, even though Lucas undoubtedly took some inspiration from Herbert's text). One could say the same thing about The Dark Knight, and that's not really comparable either. :)
