I think how a writer approaches storytelling depends greatly on personality, temperament, background, and various other factors. There is no right or wrong way, but whatever works for you.

In my case, I'm a full-blown plotter. But I don't think that means I'm uncreative, predictable, and don't explore options. Here's my alternative argument, in the interest of balance:
