I think that's the key point: You can't. I have had to accept that too, with my novels. All sorts of things have been read into my books - some of which I think are interesting, some of which I didn't intend, and some of which I don't approve. I can't control that once the work is out there. People will take it however they please.

I think you have to make peace with letting the chips fall where they may. If some people find your work offensive, so be it. You won't please everyone.
