I think this is a very fair review. I adore Superman for many, many reasons I won't bore you with here, and Christopher Reeve will never be topped as the ultimate man of steel. It is unquestionably a classic, but you are right to point out the flaws. The time-turning bit feels emotionally right, but makes no sense logically. Still, it holds up remarkably well on the whole, even though it now feels like a period piece of sorts. And John Williams's score is still absolutely exhilarating.
