I think what separates Alien and Aliens from some of the more ham-fisted efforts of the woke-a-cola brigade (or the drank-the-Trump-kool-aid brigade for that matter) is the lack of preachiness. The themes you describe are inherent in the material without bashing the viewer over the head, whereas today everyone seems to be agenda before entertainment (whatever side of the political spectrum one positions oneself). At any rate, a very good article, and I do agree that the Alien films have always been political. They just aren't an axe-grind and first and foremost are interested in scaring and thrilling the audience.
