I went through a similar thing when I left a job of 23 years in August 2020 (it was voluntary redundancy in the wake of a restructure at the behest of new bosses/company owners, but I'd had it made clear to me I would be pushed otherwise). It is deeply rubbish, and you have nothing but sympathy from me.
