I'd opt for Brazilian wandering spiders for my spider entry in a list of this kind. The most venomous spider in the world (17 times deadlier than a black widow), it is big, looks scary, and is extremely aggressive (ie it jumps and bites rather than merely bites). Plus it doesn't maintain a web, hence "wandering", which it mostly does at night, whilst people are sleeping. Nightmare fuel.
