I'm a Christian. There's so much absolute nonsense in this class on heaven and hell that I scarcely know where to begin. Babies go to hell? Absolute madness. It dispenses with any idea whatsoever of a loving God. And the idea that you can go to hell for not going to church is a lie from the pit of hell itself (plenty of those lies in evangelical culture, I've found).
Rather than bore you with a theological systematic debunking, I'll simply give you the basis of my faith on this matter: If you are a Christian, and believe God is love (as the Bible says), and indeed have experienced that love (as I have, though I don't believe in twisting anyone's arm to convince them - that is down to God to reveal to everyone else when he chooses), then the idea that God is anything other than absolutely loving and just is lunacy. Is sending babies to hell loving and just? Of course not. Therefore, I dismiss that idea out of hand.
My belief is that on the Day of Judgement, no one will be able to say they were treated fairly. If they could claim that, it would undermine the idea that God was just and perfect in his love. A god of that kind isn't worth serving, but should be overthrown. However, I don't believe that is the God I serve.
Of course, this is a matter of personal faith. I simply give you my position on this. :)
