I'm a horror fan and I have no interest in seeing any more Terrifier films. Here's why:

Extreme gore in horror cinema can be used creatively for dark comedy purposes (The Evil Dead), or satirical purposes (The Substance), or when appropriate to the subject matter (zombie films). When it doesn't work, for me at any rate, is when it is present purely to revel is sadism. The reason being, I approach horror as an emotional masochist. I want to be terrorised with ruthless dexterity, but I don't want to be invited to participate in pseudo-pornographic sadism. In the case of the Terrifier films, it isn't scary. Merely repugnant.

But each to their own, I suppose.
