I’m all for traumatising children with films — hahahahaha! Actually, both my children wept buckets over King Kong (the 1933 original rather than the 2005 Peter Jackson remake, although they like that one too). But they kept insisting on watching it again and again, no matter how much the finale got to them. Very like me in that respect. :)
Oh, and they both saw The Princess Bride first at a rerelease a few years ago, which was wonderful.
As for The Grey, I really like that film. There’s an argument to be had that it’s all a dying fantasy in Liam Neeson’s character’s head, just as he is about to commit suicide near the beginning. The poor guy was grieving when he made that film in any case, for Natasha Richardson. It really shows in his performance.
