I'm fairly indifferent to FX 2 (I loved the first one), and I can't remember much about Cocoon 2 (but again, I loved the first one).

As for the "Orangutan" films, I think the first is better, but as you say, neither are particularly top-tier highlights from Clint's directorial CV. However, speaking of which, I'm now wondering whether I can consider Letters of Iwo Jima (one of the greatest war films ever made, as far as I'm concerned) for this list. It was certaily superior to Flags of Our Fathers. :)
