I'm in the UK. I'm a Christian with fairly orthodox beliefs (small "o"), but I don't call myself "evangelical" anymore precisely because of this sort of nonsense (meaning no offence to your sister). "Evangelical" used to mean someone who believed in preaching the Gospel (as I do), yet now it seems to mean unholy political idolatry (the Trump cult) and lunatic End Times predictions. Regarding the latter, the Bible makes it completely clear that we don't know the day or hour of Christ's return (and that even Jesus didn't know, only God the Father), so anyone claiming to know otherwise can be safely ignored. Apart from anything else, the Bible also says Jesus will return at a time we don't expect, so my personal opinion (as a Christian) is that believers are simply called to show the love of Jesus to those around them, preach the Gospel (but not attempt to twist anyone's arm - a crucial point), and not make silly predictions about exactly when the End Times will be. From a theological perspective, we've been in the "End Times" for 2,000 years, so that's a silly point to make in any case. :)
