I'm not a fan of The Patriot, but I won't go into detail boring you with why. Mostly, I'm annoyed at the way Emmerich borrowed Nazi atrocities and attributed them to the British (burning people in churches, etc). But I'll leave Paul Combs to talk further on historic inaccuracies, if he's so inclined, as that is more his area.

However, what I will say is that as an unrepentant separate art from artist extremist, I am still a fan of Mel Gibson. :)
