I'm not a fan of this film. Jean-Pierre Jeunet has made far better films (The City of Lost Children and Delicatessen, for instance). I also don't like the way so much of this is brightly lit with tons of gore, which rather undermines the creature in the shadows scares of the original, where most of the gore (post chest burster) was left to the imagination (and therefore far scarier). For me, there are only two films in this series: Alien and Aliens. The rest are a waste of celluloid.
