I’m not attempting to claim real world knowledge, merely knowledge of what makes a satisfying story. In this case, I can’t see the point of drastically changing established Christian theology, as it doesn’t make for a consistent and compelling narrative. I would be equally irritated by the introduction of the Force in Star Trek as it clear belongs in the Star Wars universe.
