I'm not quite finished, but it doesn't look as though it will do what I want it to do, which is sad. Never mind. It has inspired a different story which I'll write myself another time. :)
I'll always love Kazuo Ishiguro for The Remains of the Day. Such a great novel (and a great film too). I was less keen on Never Let Me Go. Brilliantly written, but dystopian tales of that kind really do need to climax with an act of rebellion (even an unsuccessful one) to feel satisfying. I just didn't buy the passivity with which the characters accepted their fate.
