I'm not sure I agree.

Seven was pretty good, it was just so dark. Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Spacey all turn out excellent performances, but I still don’t think that the characters were very empathetic.

I'm not sure I agree. I deeply feel Morgan Freeman's world weariness, and despair at Brad Pitt's naivety. It's a great film.
